Am Wochenende vom 27 bis 29 März fand das jährliche SKW Jugendfussballtunier statt. Die Firma Retirement Fund Solutions war, wie schon im vergangenem Jahr, Haupsponsor der beliebten Veranstaltung.

Ein schönes Ereignis gerät fast in die Zweitrangigkeit wegen unverantwortlichen Vereinstrainern und betrunkenen Eltern (Zuschauern). Die schlimmsten Vorfälle ereigneten sich wohl als angetrunkene Anhänger der u/13 Mannschaften Otjiwarongo und Ramblers den Schiedrichter backpfeifften, beziehungweise die kleinen Spieler verbal fertig machten. "Es scheinen wohl nicht alle begriffen zu haben worum es im Jugendfussball zu gehen scheint!”, so ein entrüsteter Udo Riedel von der Tunierleitung des Sport Klub Windhoek. In der Abschlussrede sprach Riedel dies vor der Preisverleihung an und erntete tobenden Beifall als er noch mal betonte das es im Jugendbereich um Ausbildung geht und nicht ums gewinnen.

Auch die beiden NPL coaches Lucky Kakuva und Rolf Beiter waren nicht beeindruckt von der Statistik, das es von der u/11 bis zur u/17 47Gelbe und 15 Rote Karten gab. Der SKW hat zum erstenmal in solch einem Mammuttunier alles, von den Schiedsriechtern und den Spielbeobachtern, Dokumentieren lassen . So wurden alle Tore und Strafkarten fein säuberlich notiert. Dennoch war es am Ende König Fussball der dominierte und dadurch die finstern Augenblicke vergessen lies. Top fair ging es bei den Mädl's und den Bambinos zu. Das fairste Spiel des Finaltages war das u/17 Finale der Mannschaften des SFC und SKW. Hier hatten die Verantwortlichen Thomas Zwar und Georg Engelbauer und ihre grün weissen Gegner Lesley Kakuva ud Roland Zirzow alles vollstens im Griff. Bis ins Elfmeterschiessen liessen sich beide Teams nicht zu unfairen Mitteln verleiten und kamen ohne Gelbe Karten ans Ende der Speilzeit. Hier hatte dann der SFC die besseren Nerven und gewann dieses Spiel. Wie ihren u/17 Kollegen ging es auch den SKW Mädchen, u9, u11und der SKW u13, die allesammt zweiter wurden. Die Tems der u7 und der u15 belegten die 3ten Plätze ihrer Altersgruppe, welches der Sport Klub aus Olympia neben dem SFC aus Swakopmund zu den beständigsten Jugendprogrammen an diesem Tunier macht. Die Sieger der verschiedenen Altersgruppen waren wie folgt: Mädchen u15 SFC, u7 SFC, u9 SFC, u11 Otjiwarongo FC, u/13 Ramblers, u/15 KFA, u/17 SFC. Der SKW Vorstand bedankt sich herzlich bei allen freiwilligen Helfern die unter der Leitung von Klaus Otto und Uta Ahrens mitgewirkt haben.

SKW Jugendkoordinator Klaus Otto: “Wir hatten unzählige Anfragen verschiedener Mannschaften, aber um ein geordnetes Tunier durchzuziehen haben wir uns letzt endlich für Vereine oder Akademien entscheiden müssen, die die komplette Palette an Mannschaften mitbringen. Dies bedeutet es werden von den Bambinos bis zur u/17 alles vertreten sein an diesem Wochenende. Besonders freuen wir uns auf den Besuch der beiden Klubs SFC und Otjiwarongo FC, die von ausserhalb unser Tunier besuchen. Akademien aus Khomasdal (KFA), die Ramblers und das Namibian Youth Football Development Programme aus Katutura sind ebenfall mit von der Partie. Hinzu kommt in diesem Jahr ist, das die Mädels vom SFC und SKW namibische Fußballgeschichte schreiben werden, denn zum erstenmal werden die beiden Klubs ihre Mädel's in einem offiziellem Tunier gegeneinander kicken lassen. SKW Youth Guidelines

Passion: Show that soccer is very close to your heart and that very little can replace it. With everything you do, do it with utmost effort and go over the top with yourself. Good should not be enough! I want, I can and I must!

Team spirit: Success is a team effort and only as teams are we strong. So: Everybody else in the team is as important as you are. Encourage yourself and do as much as you can to help others. Engage yourself and show interest in your team colleagues.

Openness and honesty: Trust can only thrive through openness and honesty! No confidence, no unity; no unity, no team spirit; no team spirit, no success.

Communication: Be open for discussions, mention your ideas and raise your objections and feelings calmly at the right point of time. You should listen to your teacher, trainer and coach or teammates if they talk to you, express criticism or praise you. Only this way you can improve yourself! Good communication is the heart of a team!

Take your chances: Open your eyes, stay awake and be alert at all times - within a split-second an excellent pass might come your way to create a chance to score a goal! Take the golden and exceptional opportunity and make use of the education and training the SKW offers!

Pleasure doing things: "Also with stones put in your way you can build something beautiful" (Goethe). So, have fun with whatever you do, think positive. Only with motivation and trust in your own achievements excellent results can be expected!

Carpe diem: Time is money and expensive. Utilize yours and that of those around you wisely and judiciously. Always be on time and with full engagement whether in training or in a game, at school or with education. Carpe diem! - utilize the day!

Discipline: Stick to the relevant rules, to the benefit of the club, the team and at the end of the day for your own benefit.

Fair play: Of course we as "SKW" would like to win the league and tournaments, but never to the disadvantage of fair play. Respect the rights of others, those of the opponent and challenger; make exclusively use of your talent, strong will and team spirit to conquer your competitor.

Respect and self-esteem: Respect and appreciate behavior, opinion and attitude of teammates, referees, coaches, trainers and opponents irrespective whether you go accord with them

Youngsters Excel at Youth Soccer Tourney - by New Era - online 1 April 2009

WINDHOEK - The annual Retirement Fund Solutions-sponsored youth soccer tournament in conjunction with Cymot Sport Klub Windhoek was held at the SKW sports fields in Olympia last weekend.

Despite the youngsters producing great football belying their young age – the tournament was marred by ill discipline amongst the team’s coaches and heavily intoxicated spectators who constantly disrupted the matches with their usage of vulgar language. The highly charged Under-13 match between Otjiwarongo FC and Ramblers left a bitter taste in the mouths of many after the Ramblers coach was summarily dismissed from the premises after he got involved in a fist- fight with the referee, while a portion of Ramblers supportes verbally abused the opposing players obviously in their drunken stupor.

Veteran referee Simon Areseb and his team did a superb job in applying the FIFA rules while the match commissioners were spot on with the match statistics – ranging from goals scored and conceded as well as recording the number of cautions accumulated during the three-day tournament.

A record number of 47 yellow and 15 red cards dominated proceedings especially in the U11 and U17 age groups. On a positive note, the games in the girls division were something out of the ordinary with good spirit.

The fairest competitive game however was played during the U17 Final - SFC, under the guidance of Tom Zwar and Georg Engelbauer against SKW, coached by Lucky Kakuva and Roland Zirzow. The match produced a clean sheet with no single caution before the visitors triumphed after keeping their nerves in the dreaded penalty shootout.

Apart from Swakopmund FC, SKW was the most consistent football academy in taking runne- up spot in almost all age groups, except the U7 and U15, where they achieved third place.

5.	No player may turn 8 years of age in 2009.(Birth certificates of all players must be on hand and need to be present should it be required)
6.	Duration of matches: 2 x 10 minutes with no halftime (immediate changeover)

8.	Duration of matches: 2 x 20 minutes with halftime of 3 Minutes
